Halloween

By Michaela (Gr.6)

Halloween is a fun and exciting holiday where kids get to walk from house to house collecting candy and saying “trick or treat!”

Children and adults get to dress up as anything they want on Halloween night also known as the day of the dead in Mexico. Another Halloween tradition is carving a pumpkin into a jack-o-lantern. The whole family enjoys deciding on a face for their spooky friend. There are websites that show faces you can carve in your pumpkin. While you carve your pumpkin make sure to save the seeds to toast with salt. Yum!!!! You can go to a dollar store nearby and buy Halloween decorations or you could make your own such as paper bats or cloth ghosts. The ghosts are simple to make. All you need is white material, stuffing, string, and markers. Cut a piece of material and put a piece of stuffing in the center. Then tie a piece of string around the material and draw on a face.

I love Halloween and all of the activities that go with it!!!

Cross Country Team

By Noah (Gr.6)

Cross Country is an event where people can run competitively and hope to place. The top ten move on to the next round where you compete with the other kids who made it in the top 30. Then those competitors do the run, and the top 20 move on to the finals. The top 3 get medals.

Let me tell you one thing about cross country. It’s not that simple. I have done cross country before and I would recommend it to anyone who hasn’t.
